Amateur astronomers, including Le Point.fr you reported it a few weeks ago the observations , were not deceived. The Great Red Spot of Jupiter, this near-trademark of the gas giant, is currently shrinking at high speed. The Nasa has just confirmed. Alerted by the report of the British Astronomical Association, which raises the question, the scientific community has quickly mobilized to try to verify the extent of, and the Hubble Space Telescope was involved. Verdict: the huge anticyclone trapped for several centuries between alternating lanes (east-west, west-east) characteristics of the atmosphere of Jupiter, has never displayed such a small size.
